New Delhi, August 11: In view of promoting the use of generic medicines, the Ministry of Railways is all set to establish Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) at some of the railway stations.
However, the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras will be set up at 50 stations under a pilot project, including one in Odisha’s Khordha Road station.
The PMBJKs will be set up and operated by the licensees at locations identified by the Railway Divisions. Stalls will be provided by E-auctioning as with respective Railway Divisions through IREPS. The Janaushadhi stalls will be designed by NID Ahmedabad.
Successful bidders of PMBJK outlets have to procure necessary permissions and licenses to run a drug store and comply with all statutory requirements for the storage of drugs, read a notification issued by the Indian Railways.
