East Zone captain Ishan Kishan crafted a spectacular double century on Monday during the Duleep Trophy title clash against South Zone. Reaching this historic milestone places him in an exclusive group of just five players to achieve a double hundred in the tournament's final match. He now sits alongside legendary batters like Raman Lamba, Anshuman Gaekwad, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the domestic record books.

Starting the second day on his overnight score of 111, Kishan launched a relentless attack on the South Zone bowling lineup led by Tilak Varma. His batting partner, Kumar Kushagra, also successfully converted his overnight score of 63 into a brilliant hundred before returning to the pavilion. Despite losing Kushagra, Kishan maintained complete focus and anchored the innings perfectly to cross the prestigious 200-run mark. Their explosive 144-run stand off just 26.4 overs late on Sunday had already established a commanding foundation of 385 for four at stumps.
