Konark, June 21: The premises of the iconic Konark Sun Temple witnessed a grand celebration of International Yoga Day today. Starting at 7 AM, participants from various organizations, women’s groups, educators, volunteers, and students gathered in front of the temple to perform group yoga exercises. The event was organized under the guidance of the district administration and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida graced the occasion as the chief guest and highlighted the significance of regular yoga practice. She remarked that yoga is essential for maintaining good health and encouraged everyone to incorporate it into their daily routine for overall well-being.
The event was also attended by notable dignitaries including Union Minister Jual Oram, Puri Member of Parliament Sambit Patra, Padma Shri awardee Sudarshan Sahu, Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhuprasad Tarai, ASI Circle Superintendent DB Godnayak, along with other senior administrative officials.
