Bhubaneswar, December 7: Odisha has emerged as the preferred destination for investors, with the state government approving projects worth over ₹7 lakh crore since June, according to State Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain.

At the curtain-raiser event for the flagship industry initiative on Sunday, Swain attributed the state's growing appeal to a combination of government-led initiatives and enhanced infrastructure. "From June 24th to today, we have approved investments surpassing ₹7 lakh crore, expected to generate around 4.5 lakh job opportunities. Odisha is now the first choice for investors," Swain remarked on the sidelines of the 25th edition of the CII 'Enterprise Odisha' event in Bhubaneswar.

Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the 25th 'Enterprise Odisha' event will take place in Rourkela from January 16 to 28. During the Bhubaneswar event, the official logo and promotional video for 'Enterprise Odisha' were unveiled.

"Today marked the launch of both the logo and the promotional video. As CII celebrates its 25th edition, we continue to work together with the Odisha government to push for industrial growth," Swain noted, highlighting the state's commitment to sustainable development and industrial advancement.

The minister emphasized that Odisha's investor-friendly policies, rich natural resources, and expanding infrastructure are key drivers behind the growing investor confidence. "With Odisha's robust infrastructure and the state government's industry-centric initiatives, I encourage investors, policymakers, startups, MSMEs, and related sectors to come together and seize the growth opportunities in the state," Swain added.

The 25th CII 'Enterprise Odisha' event is poised to be a significant platform for exploring new partnerships, showcasing innovations, and discussing strategies to further bolster Odisha’s industrial and economic landscape.
