Bhubaneswar, May 22: India successfully test-launched the short-range ballistic missile Agni-1 from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha, today, marking another important milestone in the nation’s strategic defence preparedness.
The launch was conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command and demonstrated the operational readiness of the missile system.
According to sources, the test validated all key operational and technical parameters, confirming the missile’s reliability, accuracy, and performance under mission conditions.
Agni-1 is a strategic surface-to-surface ballistic missile designed for short-range engagements and forms a crucial part of India’s defence arsenal. The successful launch reflects the country’s continued emphasis on strengthening indigenous defence capabilities and maintaining a credible deterrence posture.
Defence officials stated that the missile followed the planned trajectory and achieved all mission objectives during the test.
