India begins diplomatic offensive against Pakistan, delegation to leave for Japan today

New Delhi, May 21: Marking the beginning of the extensive global outreach campaign aimed at exposing Pakistan’s alleged role as a hub of international terrorism, the first batch of all-party parliamentary delegations will begin their overseas visits on Wednesday, with the team headed by JD(U) leader Sanjay Kumar Jha set to leave for Japan tonight.

The main goal of the delegation is to show clear evidence of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and explain the reasons behind India’s recent military action, Operation Sindoor.

The team includes MPs from various political parties: Aparajita Sarangi and Brij Lal from the BJP, Abhishek Banerjee and John Barla from the TMC, and Salman Khurshid from the Congress.

They will visit five important countries in East and Southeast Asia:

  • Japan on May 22
  • South Korea on May 24
  • Singapore on May 27
  • Indonesia on May 28
  • Malaysia on May 31

This global campaign follows the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and the ceasefire declared under Operation Sindoor.

India plans to update international partners about Pakistan’s alleged support for cross-border terrorism, using a united diplomatic effort that includes leaders from various political parties.

India will send delegations to all UN Security Council (UNSC) member countries, including permanent members like the US, UK, France, and Russia, and nine non-permanent members whose terms end this year or next.

However, no delegations will be sent to Pakistan or China.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri briefed three of the seven delegations leaving between Wednesday and Thursday.

Besides Sanjay Kumar Jha’s group, another team led by Shrikant Shinde will visit the UAE, Congo, Sierra Leone, and Liberia.

A third group, led by DMK’s Kanimozhi, will start their trip on Thursday, visiting Russia, Slovenia, Greece, Latvia, and Spain.

Importantly, all seven delegations, made up of leaders from various parties and experienced diplomats, will share India’s strong message of zero tolerance for terrorism and the government’s clear commitment to fighting it in every form.
