Bhubaneswar, April 8: In a major vigilance crackdown, extensive assets have been unearthed during searches at properties linked to Rajesh Chandra Mohanty, Additional Chief Engineer, Central Irrigation Circle, Odisha.

According to preliminary reports, a palatial triple-storeyed building measuring around 3,000 sq ft has been detected at Baramunda Housing Board Colony in Bhubaneswar. Additionally, a farmhouse with a double-storeyed building of approximately 4,000 sq ft, spread over 1.71 acres, has been traced at Bimbol under Bhapur area in Dhenkanal district.

Investigators have also identified five valuable plots—one in Bhubaneswar and four in Dhenkanal. The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently conducting detailed measurement and valuation of these properties.

During the searches, cash amounting to ₹6.23 lakh and bank deposits worth over ₹60 lakh have been recovered. The weighment of gold ornaments is underway.

Officials are further verifying travel expenses, including flight tickets worth ₹13.47 lakh allegedly incurred by Mohanty.

Vehicles seized so far include two four-wheelers (Hyundai Sportz and Honda City) and two two-wheelers.

Search operations are still in progress, and further details are awaited.
