Patna, April 9: Posters naming Samrat Choudhary, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, as the next leader of the state's government were seen outside the BJP office in Patna on Thursday. This display coincided with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's departure for Delhi, where he was set to take oath as a Rajya Sabha MP.
Some of the posters, which carried the label "Valmiki Samaj," a Dalit community traditionally linked to sanitation work, were quickly removed by party staff. The BJP, however, denied any involvement in the display of the posters. "We don’t know who put them up. At this point, the decision on who will be the next Chief Minister will be made collectively, following the party's established tradition," said Danish Eqbal, the BJP's state media in-charge, addressing reporters.
