Odisha announces State Film Awards for 2023 and 2024

Bhubaneswar, June 25: The Odisha government has announced the 35th and 36th State Film Awards for the years 2023 and 2024, recognizing outstanding contributions to Odia cinema. Awards have been declared across 32 categories for each year.

The winners were selected by a seven-member jury panel. The announcement was made by Odisha's Minister for Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Surjyabanshi Suraj, in the presence of jury chairman Pranab Das and senior officials of the Culture Department.

State Film Awards 2023

For 2023, the award for Best Odia Film was jointly conferred on Pushkara and My Sweet Housewife.

  • Best Director: Pinaki Singh
  • Best Actor: Harihar Mahapatra for Bhagia Bharija
  • Best Actress: Joint winners Naina Das and Supriya Nayak

The prestigious Mohan Sundar Dev Goswami Samman for 2023 was awarded to Shyamalendu Bhattacharya for his contribution to the film industry.

State Film Awards 2024

For 2024, Ashram was adjudged the Best Film.

  • Best Director: Ashok Pati
  • Best Actor: Tanmay Mohanty (Babushan)
  • Best Actress: Debjani Beghuria

The Mohan Sundar Dev Goswami Samman for 2024 was presented to Namrata Das.

The State Film Awards are among Odisha's highest recognitions for excellence in cinema and continue to celebrate the achievements of filmmakers, actors, and technicians who contribute to the growth of the Odia film industry.
