In a heartfelt message on X, PM Modi praised Bhosle for her extraordinary musical journey, calling her "one of the most iconic and versatile voices India has ever known." He added that her timeless songs would continue to inspire generations to come. "Her voice carried brilliance that transcended time," the Prime Minister wrote, reflecting on the cherished moments he had spent with the legendary singer.
"I am deeply saddened by the passing of Asha Bhosle Ji. Her extraordinary musical journey, which spanned decades, enriched our cultural heritage and touched countless hearts worldwide. Whether it was her soulful melodies or her vibrant compositions, her voice shone with timeless brilliance. I will always treasure my personal interactions with her. Bhosle, 92, passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to multi-organ failure, as confirmed by Dr. Pratit Samdani. She had been admitted a day earlier after suffering from extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. Her son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the sad news and provided details about her final rites.
Fans and well-wishers will be able to pay their respects at her residence, Casa Grande in Lower Parel, at 11 am on April 13. Her final rites are scheduled to take place at Shivaji Park later that day.
