Bargarh, July 22: India’s first privately developed rocket, Vikram-S, launched with the support of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has created a landmark moment in the country’s space history. Developed by Hyderabad-based space technology startup Skyroot Aerospace, the successful launch has marked a significant milestone in India’s growing private space sector.

Among the team of scientists and engineers behind this historic achievement is young engineer Shivam Aryan Bag, a native of Bargarh district in Odisha. His contribution to the mission has brought pride to his family, Bargarh district, and the state of Odisha.

Shivam, the grandson of late Surendra Kumar Bag of Ward No. 12 of Bargarh Municipality and son of renowned physician Dr. Sunil Kumar Bag, showed academic excellence from an early age. He completed his engineering degree from the prestigious National Institute of Technology (NIT) before joining Skyroot Aerospace, Hyderabad, as a technologist/engineer.

A member of the Vikram Crew Team, Shivam played an important role in the rocket’s development, testing, and launch operations. His involvement in the mission highlights the growing participation of young Indian engineers in cutting-edge space technology.

The success of Vikram-S is expected to inspire a new generation of students and aspiring scientists to pursue careers in space research and contribute to India’s expanding presence in the global space industry.
