New Delhi, July 20: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Parliamentary Party will hold its rebranded weekly strategy meeting, now officially named 'Mangal Milan', on Tuesday morning at the Parliament Library Building.

The meeting, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in the GMC. Balayogi Auditorium, will serve a dual purpose. According to sources, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju is set to formally welcome new BJP Rajya Sabha members, including former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs.

Concurrently, alliance partners will pass a congratulatory motion honouring Narendra Modi for becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister of India, followed by a keynote address from the Prime Minister himself.

While the meeting aims to project absolute alliance solidarity, the newly formed Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), comprising 20 breakaway Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs aligned with the NDA, will notably not attend the joint session. Because the Lok Sabha Speaker has yet to issue formal recognition of the faction's merger under the NCPI banner, the group remains in a procedural holding pattern.

The rebel faction held its first independent parliamentary party meeting on Sunday under the leadership of veteran lawmaker Sudeep Bandyopadhyay. The group confirmed that their physical seating arrangements, division numbers, and individual legislative blocks have been officially accepted within the house layout.

NCPI leader Sudeep Bandyopadhyay held the first parliamentary meeting. Bandyopadhyay clarified that while the group is fully backing the ruling coalition, their ultimate priority remains the legislative smooth-running of the House and local constituency governance back in West Bengal, rather than escalating local regional disputes to New Delhi.

"Today, the first time the NCPI parliamentary party was held. This meeting was the most important one for us. Our allotment of seats, division numbers, and separate block have all been accepted. We have decided to extend our support to the NDA government, and whatever issues are tabled for discussion, we will take part in them. We have also decided that we still believe that the House should run, and if any difficulty is faced by any member so far as their constituency in the state of West Bengal is concerned, we will take up the issue with the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Those issues are not to be taken to Delhi to be managed," Bandyopadhyay said.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced on Monday and is scheduled to stretch till August 13, and will also mark the parliamentary debut of the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), formed by 20 rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs who merged their faction and aligned with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
