Mumbai, May 9: Bollywood star and dance sensation Nora Fatehi has been confirmed to perform at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony on June 12 at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada, making her one of the most prominent Indian performers on a global stage. She will join a star-studded lineup of Canadian and international artists, including Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Sanjoy, Vegedream, and William Prince.
The opening ceremony in the USA will feature global music icons Anitta, Future, Katy Perry, Lisa, Rema, and Tyla, highlighting the World Cup’s celebration of international music, culture, and entertainment across the three co-hosting nations. FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the Toronto event as “a powerful reflection of Canada’s identity,” adding that it would welcome the world through music and culture in a celebration that is “uniquely Canadian while also connected to a larger story unfolding across Mexico and the United States.”
The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be the largest tournament in history, with 104 matches across 16 host cities. The opening match will take place on June 11 in Mexico City, while the grand final is scheduled for July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
Nora Fatehi, 34, made her acting debut in the 2014 Hindi film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans and rose to fame through special appearances in Telugu blockbusters like Temper, Baahubali: The Beginning, and Kick 2. She has since built a versatile career spanning Bollywood films such as Street Dancer 3D and Bhuj: The Pride of India, reality TV appearances on Bigg Boss and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, and judging roles on Dance Deewane Juniors and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, establishing herself as one of India’s most internationally recognized entertainers.
