Bhubaneswar: Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Bhubaneswar, celebrated its 5th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm on its campus on Saturday. The event showcased academic excellence, cultural talent, and the vibrant spirit of the school through a series of inspiring programmes.

The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Karmalkar encouraged students to pursue meaningful goals in life and cultivate a scientific temper. He stressed the importance of hard work, determination, critical thinking, and ethical values, urging students to embrace challenges, follow their passions, and strive for excellence in every endeavour.

School Principal Chakradhar Prusty presented the institution's achievements and milestones over the past year, highlighting the dedication and accomplishments of students in academics and co-curricular activities.

​​​​​​​A major highlight of the event was the felicitation of students who scored more than 90 per cent marks in the CBSE Class 10 examination. The students honoured were S. Manasvee, Vaishnavi Pattnaik Rao, Anokhi Kumari, Bibekanand Mohapatra, Aditya Prasad Subudhi, Vendra Lekhyasri, Sadichha Priyadarshini, Ronanki Armaan, Sagufta Tarannum, Sai Aparna Sahoo, Prusty, and Swayam Subham Pradhan.

Students enthralled the audience with a variety of cultural performances, including songs, dances, and recitations, displaying remarkable creativity and talent.

The event was attended by members of the School Management Committee, parents, teachers, staff, and students. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of prizes to students who excelled in academics and extracurricular activities, recognising their achievements and encouraging them to continue striving for excellence.
