New Delhi, March 27: The Indian government has assured the public that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG, and confirmed that the country has adequate reserves to last for at least two months under normal delivery cycles. This statement came in response to concerns over potential energy supply disruptions due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
Sujata Sharma, the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, addressed the situation during a media briefing on Friday. She emphasized that India currently holds approximately 60 days’ worth of oil stock and has arranged a full month's supply of LPG.
"There is no situation that would warrant a lockdown. It's not even under consideration," Sharma said, seeking to quell rumors and reassure the public. She also urged people not to engage in panic buying, which has led to long queues at some fuel stations.
The government’s statement comes as a relief to citizens, as it highlights the country’s preparedness to handle energy needs despite global uncertainties.
