Multidisciplinary panel leads efforts to reform national testing procedures

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a new expert committee on Sunday to restructure national testing protocols following widespread student protests over NEET paper leaks. Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys, will direct this multidisciplinary team to eliminate systemic flaws within the national testing framework. This decisive action comes just one day after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stepped down from his position.

For decades, recurrent paper leaks in both state and national level examinations have severely eroded the trust of millions of aspiring students who rely entirely on these tests for upward mobility and career advancement.

To rapidly restore public faith, the central government assembled a uniquely qualified group of professionals drawn from technology, space exploration, and national intelligence sectors. Modi emphasized through a recent social media broadcast that strict transparency and advanced technology must drive the future of all student assessments.

Core Panel Members And Their Focus

Nilekani brings unmatched technological expertise from his successful time building the national Aadhaar infrastructure. His primary objective involves establishing an end-to-end encrypted testing platform that internal operators and outside hackers cannot compromise.

Joining him is S Somanath, former director of the Indian Space Research Organisation. Somanath plans to apply zero-defect standards typically used in space missions directly to the testing process. This methodical approach builds strict safety layers into every single phase, from drafting questions to the final declaration of results.

Intelligence And Cybersecurity Protocols

Tapan Deka, former director of the Intelligence Bureau, adds a crucial security dimension to the diverse team. Deka will design robust real-time cyber monitoring systems to track and intercept organized crime rings responsible for illegally selling question papers.

Furthermore, IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti will secure all testing server infrastructure against sophisticated cyberattacks. His deep academic background in computer science ensures highly resilient digital defenses.

Academic Policy And Logistics Strategy

Former Education Secretary Anita Karwal focuses specifically on student-centric policies. She aims to resolve ongoing controversies regarding grace marks and tighten regulations for independent testing centers.

Finally, retired bureaucrat Amrit Lal Meena tackles the physical supply chain. Meena will implement strict physical security measures like continuous GPS tracking and digitally locked containers for transporting printed materials securely.
