England secures Group L victory over Panama as Harry Kane breaks historic scoring record

England dominated Panama to easily clinch Group L

Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane propelled England to a commanding 2-0 victory over Panama in New Jersey this Saturday. This comfortable win safely secured first place in Group L for Thomas Tuchel's squad. Historically, England has often struggled to close out group stages cleanly, making this dominant finish a welcome shift in momentum for their campaign.

Following a highly competitive but scoreless opening half, Bellingham finally broke through in the 62nd minute. He reacted quickly inside the penalty area to score with a smart finish at the near post from a corner. Just six minutes later, Bellingham shifted to a creative role. He delivered a precise cross that captain Kane confidently headed into the net.

Kane's powerful header marked his eleventh World Cup goal. This achievement officially broke the previous national scoring record held for decades by Gary Lineker. Panama, meanwhile, concluded their tournament without scoring a single goal or earning any points. They had a late goal completely ruled out for offside. Croatia successfully claimed second place in the group, followed closely by Ghana in third.
