Another Odisha Cadre IPS probationer resigns days after DCP Jagmohan Meena resignation

Bhubaneswar, Jul 11: Days after Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena submitted his resignation, another young Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Odisha cadre has sought to quit government service.

According to Odisha Police sources, C.A. Ramdas, a 33-year-old IPS probationer of the 2025 batch, has submitted his resignation to the government. Ramdas is currently undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad.

Originally from Maharashtra, Ramdas was recently allotted the Odisha cadre after clearing the Civil Services Examination last year. He is presently in the first phase of his training and has not yet been posted or served in Odisha.

Police sources said the resignation letter has been forwarded through the appropriate channel to Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Y.B. Khurania. However, the reasons behind Ramdas' decision to resign have not been disclosed, and no official statement has been issued so far.

The development comes close on the heels of the resignation of Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena, a 2013-batch IPS officer, who had cited personal reasons for stepping down. His resignation is yet to receive formal approval from the government.

The back-to-back resignations of two Odisha cadre IPS officers have drawn attention within administrative circles, although officials have not indicated any connection between the two cases.
