Indore, Ap 6: At least four people were killed and eight others seriously injured after an SUV collided with an Eicher truck in Indore district late Sunday night, police said on Monday.

The accident took place near the trenching ground at Devguradia under the jurisdiction of Khudel police station. The victims were returning to Indore from Sehore district after attending a wedding function. All the passengers were residents of Iqbal Colony in Sadar Bazar area of Indore.

Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and shifted the injured to MY Hospital for treatment.

According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Ranveer Singh Parihar, three persons died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment. Eight others sustained injuries and are currently undergoing medical care.

Officials said a Zero FIR will be registered before transferring the case to Khudel Police Station for further investigation.

Superintendent of MY Hospital, Dr Ashok Yadav, confirmed that a total of 12 people were affected in the accident. Of them, four died, five are undergoing treatment at the hospital, while three opted for treatment at private facilities.
