Bhubaneswar, Aug 10: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lead the state's Independence Day celebrations by hoisting the National Flag in Bhubaneswar on August 15. He will also take the salute at the ceremonial parade in the state capital.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo will unfurl the Tricolour in Kalahandi, while Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida will preside over the Independence Day celebrations in Sundargarh.
Among the ministers assigned to various districts, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari will hoist the National Flag in Cuttack, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik in Angul, and School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond in Malkangiri.
Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra will lead the celebrations in Sambalpur, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan in Ganjam, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling in Rayagada, and Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena in Kandhamal.
Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra has been assigned Khordha, Labour and ESI Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia will hoist the flag in Puri, Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj in Balangir, Cooperation, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta in Balasore, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik in Gajapati, and Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain in Koraput.
The state government has also designated the Collectors of the remaining districts to hoist the National Flag at their respective district headquarters as part of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
