New Delhi, October 8: British aerospace and defence major Rolls-Royce held its board meeting in India for the first time this week, underscoring the company’s growing strategic focus on the Indian market.
The landmark meeting comes as Rolls-Royce seeks to deepen its engagement with India and expand its role as a long-term strategic partner in key sectors, including defence, aerospace and energy.
Separately, Rolls-Royce Chief Executive Officer Tufan Erginbilgic met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the company’s long-term plans for India, as well as opportunities to support the country’s strategic priorities.
The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration and exploring new opportunities across defence, aerospace and energy, the company said.
“India is very important to Rolls-Royce and our long-term growth ambitions,” Erginbilgic said, highlighting the significance of the Indian market to the company’s future growth strategy.
