CHSE Odisha to deploy AI-Enabled cameras to curb malpractice in Plus Two Exams

Bhubaneswar, Jan 13: In a bid to strengthen examination security and prevent malpractice, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has decided to install AI-enabled cameras at exam hubs across the state for the upcoming annual Plus Two examinations.

Controller of Examinations Prasanta Kumar Parida said cooperation from colleges has been encouraging, and the Plus Two practical examinations are progressing smoothly. He informed that most of the practical exams have already been completed, with the final practical scheduled for January 15.

“We have set up a total of 211 examination hubs this year as per the requirement. Earlier, these hubs were kept under round-the-clock CCTV surveillance. This year, however, CHSE will install AI-enabled cameras to closely monitor the entry and exit of concerned officials. Any suspicious movement inside the exam hubs will trigger an alert, enabling immediate action,” Parida said.

He added that the AI-enabled cameras will be installed by February 10. Each camera will be equipped with 128 GB storage capacity along with power backup to ensure uninterrupted surveillance.

Meanwhile, CHSE has also opened a central control room at its headquarters. For the first time, the council is monitoring practical examinations through this control room. Earlier, only theory examinations were monitored centrally. With this system in place, the activities of external examiners as well as students are being closely watched.

Worth mentioning, annual Plus Two examinations in Odisha will commence on February 18 and continue till March 25, 2026.
