Sambalpur, May 18: In a gruesome case, a young girl was stabbed to death by her siblings on Sunday.
The incident took place in the Majhipada village under the Bamra block in Sambalpur during a kith’s funeral.
According to sources, the girl was killed by one of her younger brothers & an elder sister.
The deceased has been identified as Lina Sahu.
As per reports, a heated exchange broke out among the siblings while they were performing the last rites of their uncle. Meanwhile,Lina’s younger brother stabbed her all of a sudden who died on the spot.
Upon being informed, the Govindpur police reached the spot, seized the body and initiated an investigation.
The precise reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. Further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
