Ganja, brown sugar seized in Boudh; 3 arrested

Boudh, Sept 20: As part of the ongoing Operation Prahar, the Boudh Police, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Rahul Goel, have intensified their crackdown on illegal narcotics in the district. In a significant raid conducted by the Boudh Adarsh Police Station, 21 kilograms of ganja and 9 grams of brown sugar were seized. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the seizure.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Boudh Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nalini Kanta Das said the accused were apprehended near Boudh Adarsh School on Thursday while they were attempting to transport the contraband in a jute bag.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Bhavasagar of Boudh, Mukesh Pradhan alias Muna, and Gagura Bahadur alias Gobara. Police have registered a case under the NDPS Act and presented the accused before court on Friday.

Officer Das further informed that as part of Operation Prahar, Boudh Police have so far registered six narcotics cases, seizing a total of 132 kilograms of ganja and arresting 10 accused persons.

The crackdown is part of a larger strategy to curb the illegal drug trade in the region and ensure public safety.
