Gambling den busted in Bargarh: 12 arrested, cash and vehicles seized

Bargarh, Sept 9: In a major crackdown on illegal gambling, Bheden Police on Monday raided a gambling den in Kudopali village under Bargarh district and arrested 12 individuals involved in dice-based betting activities. The raid was conducted following a tip-off from reliable sources.

According to police reports, the accused were caught red-handed while participating in the gambling activity. The arrested persons have been identified as Shukru Bhue, Gabaksha Jagat, Jagannath Chhatria, Lingaraj Kartta, Panchu Sahu, Sudam Kand, Biswajit Khamari, Debaraj Bhaina, Sunu Bhebhera, Babulal Seth, Gautam Guru, and Dhaneshwar Podh.

During the operation, police seized: ₹1.76 lakh in cash, dice-based gambling boards, 21 motorcycles, 3 four-wheelers,15 mobile phones.

The accused are residents of various areas including Jandol, Dalab, Limchhoda, Kadalipali, Dhulesara in Bheden, and other parts of Jharsuguda and Sonepur districts.

Following the arrest, all 12 individuals were produced in court. Meanwhile, Bheden Police have registered a case and confirmed that further investigation is underway to uncover more details related to the gambling racket.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to curbing illegal activities in the region and have urged the public to report such incidents to the police.
