Fortis Healthcare strikes regional management deal for new Cuttack facility
Fortis Healthcare has officially announced its entry into Odisha by signing an operations and management agreement with Bhubaneswar-based Dion Group to run a new 300-bed multi-specialty hospital. Slated for development at the Dion Riverside Township in Trishulia, Cuttack, this greenfield project aims to deliver advanced clinical care to patients across Eastern India. Dion Group, primarily known for real estate and integrated township projects, will construct the infrastructure, while Fortis will leverage its medical expertise to handle clinical operations.
Strategic Healthcare Expansion In Eastern India
Choosing Trishulia places the hospital squarely within the fast-growing Cuttack-Bhubaneswar twin-city corridor. This location benefits from significant regional infrastructure upgrades, including the state government's recent push to extend the metro rail network through Trisulia directly to SCB Medical College, ensuring seamless connectivity for future patients. Operating as a regional referral center, the facility will focus on tertiary and quaternary care, bringing high-end diagnostics and specialized medical programs to the local population.
Enhancing Local Medical Access
Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Managing Director and CEO of Fortis Healthcare, noted that this partnership marks a crucial step in their national growth strategy. By securing an asset-light operational model, the hospital chain expands its geographic footprint without bearing the capital burden of construction. Dion Group founder Manoj Sahoo emphasized that combining their modern infrastructure capabilities with trusted clinical management will directly address the rising demand for quality medical treatment within the state. Ultimately, this development intends to minimize the necessity for Odisha residents to travel to other states for complex medical procedures, fostering a stronger local healthcare ecosystem. Furthermore, the project creates a valuable platform to nurture specialized medical talent and drive local healthcare innovation. Currently managing 36 facilities nationwide, Fortis continues to grow its presence through these strategic collaborations.
