Bhubaneswar, Aug. 26: Senior Congress leader and former MLA from the Padampur Assembly constituency, Satya Bhusan Sahu, passed away at the age of 73 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Sahu, a veteran Congress leader, was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly three times from the Padampur constituency on a Congress ticket—in 1980, 1985 and 2004.

People from Padampur and leaders from various political quarters have expressed grief over his death and prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul.

Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Bhakta Charan Das condoled Sahu's death in a post on X, describing him as a dedicated leader whose service to the people of Padampur would always be remembered.
