Bhubaneswar, September 30:The Odisha State Election Commission will conduct a door-to-door survey ahead of the 2027 Panchayat and Municipal elections to ensure accurate and updated electoral rolls.
Addressing a state-level training programme for election officials, State Election Commissioner Madhusudan Padhi stressed the need for clean, transparent, accurate and citizen-centric elections.
Officials from all districts, including Additional District Magistrates, Sub-Collectors, District Panchayat Officers, Executive Officers, BDOs and BLO Supervisors, attended the training. They were briefed on electoral roll revision, field-level surveys, election preparedness and administrative procedures.
Padhi directed officials to verify electoral rolls through door-to-door visits, enrol eligible voters and correct errors in names, addresses and other details. He also stressed that no eligible citizen should be left out of the electoral rolls.
The training also focused on coordination among district and block-level officials to complete election-related work within the stipulated time and address field-level issues promptly.
Officials from the Municipal Administration and Panchayati Raj departments, along with field-level officers involved in pilot surveys, shared their experiences and provided guidance on conducting the exercise effectively.
The programme concluded with an interactive session where officials discussed practical issues related to the survey and electoral roll preparation.
