Patriotic Canvas Commemorates Historic Milestone

Bhubaneswar witnessed a vibrant blend of patriotism and fine art on August 15, 2026, as students and faculty of Dhauli College of Art and Crafts celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day. Located near the historic Shanti Stupa, an iconic landmark embodying peace and Odisha’s deep heritage of non-violence, the institute hosted a unique live painting session to honor the nation.

Working President Professor Dr. Hrushikesh Mishra hoisted the national tricolour, setting off enthusiastic slogans ofBharat Mata Ki Jaiacross the campus. Following the ceremony, guest lecturer Sarfuddin Ahemad created an inspiring live canvas under the guidance of college principal and noted artist Dr. Panchanan Samal.

Symbolism of Peace And Progress

Dynamic imagery in the painting showcased two fast galloping horses holding the national flag in front of India Gate, symbolising collective national energy. Flocks of white doves soared across the painted sky, spreading messages of harmony while artistic markers chronicled 80 years of democratic progress.

Vice-Principal Chandan Kumar Samal, alongside faculty members Bhupati Bhusan Panda and Laxmidhar Swain, lauded the artwork for instilling deep patriotic values and creative discipline among participating art students.
