Ranchi, August 5: Famous ‘Deshom Guru’ Shibu Soren was consigned to the pyre on Tuesday at Nemra, the cradle land of the tribal patriarch.
The mortal remains of veteran tribal leader and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) co-founder & patron Shibu Soren, was finally cremated here with full state honours at his ancestral village Nemra in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand in the afternoon.
Earlier, Soren’s body was kept at home then was taken at the Jharkhand Assembly premises for people to pay their last respects and adieu to their dearone in the morning.
Following this, he was carried out in a procession in the city and escorted to the village graveyard where he was cremated among thousands of fellowmen performing traditional rituals. The mortal remains of former Jharkhand CM Shibu Soren consigned to the flames by his elder son Hemant Soren, Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
Shibu Soren’s demise marks the end of an era, one that brought the tribal movement from the grassroots of Jharkhand to the forefront of national politics with a new & prosperous Jharkhand in hand.
Worth mentioning, the Deshom Guru breathed his last at a private hospital in Delhi on Monday at 81 due to Kidney related ailments.
