Bhubaneswar, May 28: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan to assess the progress of various initiatives under the Women and Child Development Department.
One of the key highlights of the meeting was the unveiling of the redesigned website template of the State Women’s Commission, along with the launch of its official newsletter. Emphasizing user accessibility, Smt. Parida directed officials to ensure the website is simplified and easily usable, particularly for citizens in rural areas.
The Deputy CM also reviewed the framework of the upcoming Subhadra Samvedana Scheme, which aims to enhance self-defense skills, mental well-being, hygiene practices, and public awareness among women and adolescent girls. She laid special emphasis on the strategic use of the ‘Nirbhaya Pathi’ platform to address and prevent violence against women.
In addition, the meeting focused on modernizing the Anganwadi system. Under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Anganwadi workers and helpers will be provided with specialized training in digital tools and practices. The goal is to transform them into Smart Anganwadi Workers, equipped to deliver improved services using technology.
Discussions were also held regarding the development of a standardized application format for enlisting NGOs under the Social Welfare Board, aiming to streamline collaboration with civil society organizations.
Principal Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, Smt. Shubha Sharma, Director Monisha Banerjee, and senior departmental officials were present at the meeting.
