New Delhi, April 23: The accused in the brutal rape and murder of a 22-year-old woman in southeast Delhi’s Kailash Hills has told investigators that his original intent was to rob the house, but the crime escalated after the victim refused to open her safe.
Rahul Meena, a 19-year-old gambling addict, has been responding to questions during the interrogation, though he has reportedly changed his statements multiple times. Authorities revealed that Meena, who was struggling with significant debts, had previously sold his mobile phone to pay off some of his obligations, but was still unable to raise enough money. This financial strain led him to resort to robbery as a means to solve his problems.
