New Delhi, February 8: As the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) decade-long governance in Delhi comes to an end, Arvind Kejriwal, the party's national convener and former Chief Minister, graciously accepted the electoral results, congratulating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on their victory. Kejriwal called on the BJP to fulfill the promises made during their campaign.

In his video address, Kejriwal reflected on AAP's achievements over the past ten years, particularly in the areas of health, education, and infrastructure. He emphasized that, despite no longer being in power, AAP would continue to serve the people and play a "constructive role" in the opposition. "We accept the mandate of the people with great humility. I congratulate the BJP for this victory, and I hope they will fulfill all the promises for which people have voted for them," Kejriwal stated.

He also reaffirmed that AAP’s involvement in politics was never driven by the desire for power but by a commitment to public service. "We have done a lot of work in the fields of health, education, and infrastructure over the last 10 years. We will not only play the role of a constructive opposition but will also stay connected with the people and continue our service," he added.

With the results showing a strong lead for the BJP, the party is poised to form a government in Delhi after a gap of 27 years. As per the latest figures from the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP is ahead on 47 seats, having won 15 and leading on 32. In comparison, AAP is leading on 23 seats, with 11 wins and 12 leads. Meanwhile, Congress has failed to secure any seats for the third consecutive time in Delhi elections.

The BJP's victories include Shalimar Bagh, Rajouri Garden, Tri Nagar, Rajinder Nagar, Sangam Vihar, Greater Kailash, Patparganj, and Gandhi Nagar. AAP has secured victories in Kondli, Delhi Cantt, Sultanpur Majra, Sadar Bazar, Chandani Chowk, Ballimaran, Tilak Nagar, Tughlaqabad, and Babarpur.

Polling for the 70-member Delhi Assembly took place on February 5, with a voter turnout of 60.54%. BJP workers and supporters have already begun celebrating outside the party's office in New Delhi, anticipating a return to power in the national capital after a long hiatus. Firecrackers, dancing, and singing were seen in the jubilant celebrations.
