Delhi Police’s Vivek Bhagat agrees to keep Addl DCP charge on hold pending enquiry

New Delhi, October 6: Delhi Police officer Vivek Bhagat has consented to keeping on hold an order assigning him the current duty charge of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Addl DCP), amid a pending enquiry against him in the Delhi Police Crime Branch.

Bhagat, currently posted as Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Connaught Place, made the request following an enquiry into allegations of harassment made against him by a YouTuber.

In a letter to the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, Bhagat said his appointment as Addl DCP was approved through an order dated October 5, 2025. However, citing the pending enquiry, he voluntarily agreed to keep the order concerning his appointment on hold.

Earlier, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu had approved assigning the current duty charge of Addl DCP to 12 Selection Grade DANIPS officers, including Bhagat, with immediate effect.

Following Bhagat’s request to step aside until the enquiry is dealt with, the Delhi government issued a clarification modifying the October 5 order and keeping his assignment on hold.
