New Delhi, June 10: In a distressing incident, a man and his two children died after jumping from their flat in panic when a fire broke out on the top floor of a residential building in Delhi’s Dwarka Sector 13 on Tuesday morning.
As per reports, Yash Yadav (35), his 10-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter jumped down from their flat in panic and died.
On the other hand, Yash’s wife and one of their relatives managed to escape the fire and have been admitted to the IGI Hospital for treatment.
As per reports, the fire fighters got a call regarding the fire at 10:01 am following which they swung into action and pressed eight fire tenders to douse the flames.
“Today on 10.06.2025 a PCR call was received at 0958 Hrs regarding fire in Sapath Society, Sector 13, Dwarka. It was found that the fire was on the 8th and 9th floor of Sapath Society, Sec 13. Five five tenders were sent immediately for the spot,” additional DCP Dwarka Nishant Gupta said in a statement.
“It was found that two children (one boy and one girl – both aged 10-12 yrs) jumped from the balcony to save themselves, who were later declared dead. Later, their father, Yash Yadav, also jumped from the balcony, who was also declared dead. He was a businessman involved in Flex Board business,” the statement added.
All the residents of the society were safely evacuated, and electricity and gas connections were cut off. The DDA and MCD have been informed to check if the building is still safe.
The exact reason behind the blaze is yet to be ascertained.
