New Delhi, Feb 16: Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has issued a passenger advisory on Monday, urging travelers to expect potential traffic congestion and delays due to the India AI Summit at Bharat Mandapam. Passengers are advised to use the Delhi Metro for a more convenient journey to and from the airport.

In a post on X, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) informed passengers that major events in the national capital could disrupt road traffic, and encouraged travelers to plan their journeys in advance. The advisory specifically recommended using the Delhi Metro to avoid any inconvenience. For access to Terminal 1, passengers were advised to use the Magenta Line, while those heading to Terminals 2 and 3 should opt for the Airport Express Line or other available services.

The airport also thanked passengers for their understanding and cooperation, urging them to consider alternative public transport options.

Meanwhile, the India AI Impact Summit 2026, with the theme "Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya", has officially kicked off at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the India AI Impact Expo 2026, which runs from February 16 to 20. The event is designed to showcase artificial intelligence in action, bringing together policy makers, innovators, and large-scale implementers on a single platform.

Spanning across 10 arenas and covering over 70,000 square meters, the AI Impact Expo will host global technology companies, startups, academic institutions, research bodies, government ministries, and international partners. Thirteen country pavilions will be featured, representing international collaboration in the AI ecosystem, with countries like Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, and several others participating.

Over 300 curated exhibition pavilions and live demonstrations will be organized, divided into three thematic "chakras"-People, Planet, and Progress-highlighting AI's wide-reaching impact across various sectors. With over 600 startups set to participate, the Expo is expected to draw more than 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates.

The AI Impact Summit marks a significant milestone as the first international AI summit hosted in the Global South, with a focus on shaping an AI future that is inclusive, responsible, and impactful. As part of the IndiaAI Mission, the country will unveil 12 indigenous AI foundation models developed by local startups and consortia, trained on Indian datasets and customized for the nation's 22 official languages.

This summit not only demonstrates India’s growing influence in the AI sector but also signifies the country’s commitment to leading global AI efforts. With a projected AI market surge past USD 17 billion by 2027, India is positioning itself as a key player in AI innovation and its real-world impact across industries.
