Mumbai, Jul 3: Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone is set to make history as the first Indian actress to be honoured with a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. The announcement comes as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame's Class of 2026, which includes a star-studded lineup of 35 global icons from various fields, including film, television, music, Broadway, and comedy.
Deepika, who was named an honoree in the Motion Pictures category, will join a distinguished group of international celebrities such as Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, and Stanley Tucci. The announcement was made live by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, with fellow Walk of Fame inductees Eugenio Derbez and Richard Blade revealing the names on Wednesday.
The inductees for the 2026 class were selected from hundreds of nominations across five categories: motion pictures, television, live theatre and live performance, recording, and sports entertainment. Deepika’s inclusion highlights her significant impact in the global entertainment industry.
The list also includes notable figures like actors Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Molly Ringwald, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rami Malek, and Noah Wyle, as well as former NBA star-turned-sports analyst Shaquille O'Neal. Good Morning America anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos will be honoured in a joint ceremony, while Italian special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi and director Tony Scott will receive posthumous stars.
Deepika Padukone’s recognition is a monumental achievement for Indian cinema, especially after her Hollywood debut in xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017), where she starred alongside Vin Diesel.
