Kendrapara, Oct 27: More than 20 fishermen from Petachhela Panchayat in Mahakalapada block of Kendrapara district have reportedly gone missing after venturing into the deep sea to catch fish and crabs.

According to reports, the fishermen had set out to sea about a week ago. However, changing weather conditions triggered by Cyclone Arnab reportedly left them stranded in the Langugola island group.

The incident has raised concerns over the safety of the missing fishermen, who are yet to be traced.

Meanwhile, Kendrapara District Collector Raghuram Iyer said that the Rajnagar Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) is monitoring the situation. During a patrol, officials reportedly found no one on the islands.
