Bhubaneswar, August 12: A total of 978 women Government officials from across the country, including 32 from Odisha have been trained under the Cyber Shakti programme since its inception in 2024 through two-week Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) mode online training programme and one-week offline residential training programme.

The women officials included police officers, cyber cell personnel and officials dealing with victims of cybercrimes.

Highest 249 women officials from Delhi were trained under the CyberShakti programme followed by Gujarat (81), Karnataka (73), Tamil Nadu (64), Maharashtra (53), Uttar Pradesh (45), Haryana (42), Kerala (36), Uttarakhand (32), Odisha (32), Himachal Pradesh (30), Rajasthan (29), Telangana (28), West Bengal (20), Tripura (19), Meghalaya (16), Madhya Pradesh (15), Andhra Pradesh.

Twelve women officials each from Punjab and Ladakh, 11 each from Assam, Bihar and Jharkhand, seven each from Puducherry, Chandigarh and Goa, six from Chhattisgarh, five each from Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir and two each from Mizoram and Haveli and Daman and Diu attended the training programme initiated by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Similarly, Nagaland, Sikkim Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Dadra and Nagar Lakshadweep recorded one woman official each have undergone the training.

In addition to the training programmes, a total of 573 women participants has attended webinars aimed at sensitizing them toward the importance of cyber security.

Cyber Shakti is a flagship initiative supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), aimed at strengthening the nation’s cyber resilience by empowering women Government officials with advanced knowledge, technical skills, and confidence in the domain of cyber security.
