Bhubaneswar, April 15: The Commissionerate Police has raised concerns over inadequate security arrangements in several apartments across the capital city. Despite prior meetings with apartment presidents and secretaries, many residential complexes have failed to implement proper safety measures.
Taking the matter seriously, police have issued notices to apartments, urging immediate compliance with security guidelines.
As per the directive, installation of IP-enabled CCTV cameras has been made mandatory for all apartments. Builders, residents, welfare committees, and housing societies have been instructed to ensure strict adherence. Police have warned that failure to comply will invite stringent action after a final notice.
Issued under the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, the notice also mandates sharing of CCTV footage with police in case of any incident. Officials believe the move will significantly help in preventing crimes within apartment complexes.
