Bhubaneswar, June 13: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday unveiled the official schedule of the 3rd Bhubaneswar Film Festival-2026 at Lok Seva Bhawan. The four-day festival will be held from June 25 to June 28 at Jayadev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
During an interaction with Festival Director Sanjay Pattnaik and Co-Directors Sukanta Rath and Ashok Palit, the Chief Minister lauded the initiative and its contribution to promoting cinema and culture. He said the festival has emerged as an important platform for showcasing Odisha’s art, heritage and cinematic excellence.
Majhi announced that the Bhubaneswar Film Festival would be organised on a much larger and more comprehensive scale from 2027 onwards with the aim of taking Odisha’s culture and cinema to the global stage.
The festival organisers expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture for extending support to the event. They said the department’s encouragement has played a key role in strengthening film culture and promoting cinema in the state.
According to the organisers, the festival will be held daily from 10 am to 10 pm between June 25 and June 28. Besides Odia films, audiences will get an opportunity to watch nationally and internationally acclaimed movies in Kannada, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Assamese, Malayalam and Demsa languages.
The festival is expected to bring together filmmakers, cinema enthusiasts and cultural personalities from across the country, making it one of the major cinematic events in Odisha.
