Bolangir, Ap 25:  In a major push to boost both industrial and rural development in Western Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the establishment of a new Sugar Mill and Textile Park in Bolangir. Speaking at the state-level celebration of National Panchayati Raj Day, the CM highlighted that the district is on the verge of a significant economic transformation.

During the event, CM Majhi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 304 projects with a combined investment of Rs 580 crore, including a new Nursing College at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital.

Reflecting on his own journey as a former Sarpanch, the Chief Minister emphasized that Panchayats are the backbone of democracy. "Our government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of ‘Viksit Bharat’ reach every individual in the villages," he stated.

The CM also launched the Panchayati Raj Samikshya Portal, aimed at enhancing transparency in rural governance. Additionally, work orders were distributed to over 50,000 beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana, while confirming that Odisha will receive 10 lakh more houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Reiterating the state’s focus on infrastructure, CM Majhi underscored the mission to provide piped water to every household by March 2027, supported by a massive Rs 54,000 crore investment.

The event was attended by Deputy CM KV Singh Deo and PR Minister Rabi Narayan Nayak, who highlighted the record Rs 44,309 crore budget allocated for rural development in the current financial year.

These initiatives signal a major step toward transforming Bolangir into a hub of industrial growth and rural welfare, aligning with Odisha’s broader vision of inclusive development.
