Bhubaneswar, Sept 4: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will today disburse financial assistance under the CM-KISAN scheme for the 2026-27 Rabi season to more than 41 lakh small and marginal farmers, Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) and landless agricultural households.
The state-level programme, organised by the Agriculture Department at the OUAT Krushi Shiksha Sadan, will see the Chief Minister transfer more than Rs 833 crore directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The financial assistance is aimed at strengthening the economic condition of farmers and encouraging them to continue and expand agricultural activities.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and other dignitaries are scheduled to attend the state-level programme. Ministers will also participate in district-level events across Odisha to oversee the disbursement of the CM-KISAN assistance.
According to departmental officials, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari will attend the programme in Khordha, while Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra will be present in Dhenkanal.
Health Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling will attend the event in Kalahandi, Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena in Ganjam, and Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra in Cuttack.
Similarly, Labour Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia will attend the programme in Keonjhar, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj in Bhadrak, and Cooperation Minister Pradeep Bal Samant in Jajpur.
Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik will participate in the programme in Puri, while Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain will attend the event in Jagatsinghpur.
The government expects the assistance to provide financial support to farming families and contribute to greater economic stability among beneficiaries ahead of the Rabi cultivation season.
