Bhubaneswar, May 26: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday congratulated distinguished researcher and litterateur Dr. Mahendra Kumar Mishra after he received the Padma Shri award for 2026 from the President of India at a special ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Chief Minister said the prestigious recognition for Dr. Mishra’s contribution to the fields of literature and education has brought pride and glory to the entire state. He also prayed to Lord Jagannath for his good health, well-being and continued success.

He has earned global acclaim for voicing the Indian knowledge system embedded in tribal and rural population of India.
