Odisha CM Majhi meets Nadda, fuels speculation over cabinet rejig

Bhubaneswar/Delhi, October 4: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday met BJP national president and Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda in New Delhi, raising expectations about a Cabinet reshuffle.

However, the CM said that he discussed organizational matters, the current political scenario, and the roadmap for future initiatives with Nadda.

“Today in New Delhi, I had the privilege of calling on our party’s Hon’ble National President and Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda Ji. We discussed organizational matters, the current political scenario, and the roadmap for future initiatives. His visionary guidance will continue to inspire us to serve with dedication and commitment,” posted Majhi on ‘X’.

Majhi’s meeting with the party national president has once again ignited speculation over a possible Cabinet expansion and reshuffle.

Sources suggest that alongside Cabinet changes, key appointments to State Corporations and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) might also be discussed during their discussions.

Currently, the strength of the State Cabinet stands at 16, including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. There are five vacancies in the Cabinet. As the strength of Odisha Assembly is 147, the Government can have at least 21 Ministers.
