Bhubaneswar, May 19: Following the arrest of Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra for allegedly spying and maintaining contact with a Pakistani citizen, Odisha’s CID Crime Branch is verifying her connection with an Odisha YouTuber, Priyanka Senapati of Puri.
IG CID Sarthak Sarangi said all facts, including Malhotra’s visits to Puri, Chilika, and Konark, are under investigation.
Puri SP Vinit Agrawal confirmed coordination with Haryana Police and other agencies. Hisar SP Shashank Sawan revealed Malhotra was developed as a possible asset, had links with other influencers, and visited Pakistan multiple times, including before the Pahalgam attack.
Malhotra was booked under the Official Secrets Act and BNS 152. Police recovered suspicious material from her devices and placed her on a five-day remand. She allegedly met a Pakistani officer in Delhi and later traveled to Pakistan, where she was reportedly hosted by Pakistani agencies.
Her father, Haris Malhotra, confirmed her travels and demanded the return of seized devices, insisting she was a YouTuber who visited Pakistan with permissions.
