Bhubaneswar: HTC Chhatrapur emerged champion of the 1st Michael Kindo Memorial Hockey Championship Trophy, defeating host Bhubaneswar Hockey Club Trust by 5-2 goals. In the 3rd place match, HTC Bhubaneswar defeated GR Ranpur by 2-0 goals. The three-day championship concluded here at Kalinga Stadium on Sunday.
Total nine U-19 teams participated in the knock out format championship. The teams were HPC Puri, Bhubaneswar Hockey Club trust, HTC Chhatrapur, HTC Jajpur, HTC Cuttack, HPC Ranpur, HTC Bhubaneswar, HPC Dhenkanal and HPC PPL Paradip.
Earlier in the semifinals, HTC Chhatrapur and Bhubaneswar Hockey Club Trust won over GR Ranpur and HTC Bhubaneswar by 1-1 (2-1) and 2-1 respectively.
