Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand), May 21: Marking a significant event in the ongoing Char Dham Yatra 2025, the doors of the sacred Shri Madhmaheshwar Temple, also known as the Second Kedar, were officially opened on Wednesday.
Over 300 pilgrims and local devotees gathered at the temple, which was beautifully decorated with flowers for the special occasion, to witness the doors being opened at the auspicious time of 11:30 AM.
Priest Shivling Swami performed the traditional decoration of the self-manifested Shiva Lingam after the doors were opened. Following this, devotees were allowed to have Nirvana Darshan, followed by Shringar Darshan.
Earlier, the moving idol was taken around to inspect the temple storeroom and utensils, as part of the rituals.
The Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTSC) has made detailed arrangements for the pilgrimage.
BKTSC President Hemant Dwivedi sent his best wishes to all devotees on this special occasion and said he hopes many pilgrims will visit to receive the blessings of Lord Madhmaheshwar.
BKTSC media-incharge Harish Gaur shared that the moving idol of Shri Madhmaheshwar reached the Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath on May 18, then went to the Rakeshwari Temple in Ransi on May 19, and visited Gaundar on May 20, before finally arriving at the Shri Madhmaheshwar Temple on the morning of May 21.
This event is an important moment in the Char Dham Yatra 2025, which officially began on April 30 with the opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams on Akshaya Tritiya, celebrated with Vedic chants and rituals.
After that, the doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened on May 2, followed by Badrinath Dham on May 4, completing the traditional openings of the four sacred shrines that make up the Char Dham pilgrimage.
