Centre grants ‘Z’ category security cover to Delhi CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, August 21: The Union government has approved ‘Z’ category security cover for Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta after a recent attack on her, official sources confirmed on Thursday.
As part of the enhanced security arrangement, Gupta, her official residence, and the Camp Office on Raj Niwas Marg in Civil Lines will be guarded by the VIP Security Group (VSG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The VSG also protects Union Home Minister Amit Shah and members of the Gandhi family.
Following directions from the Union Home Ministry, the CRPF formally took charge of the chief minister’s security on Thursday.
