Bhubaneswar, July 1: The State Cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday approved the establishment of the Odisha State Data Centre 2.0 (OSDC 2.0) Project.
The existing State Data Centre has been operational since 2011 and currently hosts over 600 Government applications catering to the needs of 39 State Government Departments.
With the present infrastructure facing capacity limitations and nearing end-of-life, the establishment of OSDC 2.0 has become imperative.
The OSDC 2.0 will be a Tier-III compliant, secure, scalable, and State-owned Data Centre, designed to meet the growing digital governance requirements of the State of Odisha.
The project includes migration of existing applications, enhancement of cyber security measures, and the creation of a robust Disaster Recovery facility to ensure high availability and resilience of critical Government services.
In alignment with sustainability goals, OSDC 2.0 will adopt green and energy-efficient Data Centre practices.
The total approved project cost for the establishment of OSDC 2.0 including operation and maintenance for five years is Rs 268.44 crore.
